Thought of the Day: Referrals


When making a commitment to advertise with a magazine, one does not ask the magazine for referrals before signing the contract. So why ask a business for a referral. Anyone can get on the phone or email and state how great you or your business is. How do you know the referral is legitimate and why base your decision on that?

A serious client already knows what they want, a “referral” should not be the deciding factor. One’s reputation is what results in social evaluation on a set of criteria, not the opinion of someone else. Isn’t it the reputation that brings clients to the company???
