Redeye Chicago tweeted this morning “Name one Chicago regret and one Chicago accomplishment of yours from 2012.” I shared one accomplishment but I have a few that I accomplished this year and wanted to share with you.
2012 Chicago Accomplishments
- Quitting my job. After 8 years of working at a law firm and unhappy yet afraid to quit, I finally did it. Actually, they gave me a legitimate reason to quit and as of today, I have no regrets because I was able to fully focus on my business GlitzPR & Marketing.
- Meeting Derrick Rose and planning his and girlfriend Mieka’s baby shower. Anyone that knows me knows that I am DRose fan (btw missing him terribly in the game) BUT it was an honor to meet him, his family and be chosen to plan such a fun baby shower for the beautiful couple.
- Winning the Chicago BizBash Social Event Planner of the Year award. What a huge honor to stand on stage with so many accomplished individuals in the event industry and receive such an award.
2012 Chicago Regrets
I don’t really have any regrets but I did make a few sacrifices which I know were due to the fact that I gave up my full time job and now pursuing my business full time.
I am looking forward to a New Year. My new website launches January 1, 2013. I will be hosting an invitation only Appreciation “Networking” Soiree the first of the year entitled “New Year ~ New Day,” so Friends, Family, and Colleagues, invitations will be going out soon so be on the lookout. The purpose of the Appreciation “Networking” Soiree is to show my appreciation to those that have and continue to support my business and for everyone to network of course. On March 3, 2013, I will be producing The Bridal Tour Chicago, taking brides + grooms “to be” via limo bus to various wedding business, very excited about this event. My oldest son will be graduating from high school and attending college, one down.
I have many other exciting things happening for GlitzPR & Marketing that I will share at a later time so stay tuned. I want to wish everyone a safe New Years Eve and Happy New Year. ToDAY, I will be celebrating the upcoming New Year with friends drinking champagne and eating plenty of delicious food and toNIGHT I will spend with my children bringing in the New Year (that is if I don’t fall asleep before midnight). Here’s looking to a fabulous 2013 everyone. Until next year…
